Preview: A couple of unfinished pieces

Hello my Darlings,
Hope you are well, enjoying the summer and all the delights that it has to offer.
Sunshines, holidays, strawberries, ice lollies... etc.

I have a few pieces to share with ya all... you've seen a couple of snaps over on Insta but I now created a Time Lapse for you to see also. These pieces are yet to be completed... But you guys can have a sneaky preview anyways, just because its you, and I love you.

The piece of music I used for these videos is the stunning Dance of Ghosts by Jonathan Simmons. You can find out more about his tunes on his Soundcloud page as well as Hitrecord Page.
I just fell in love with this music I HAD to use it for both videos. Because, I'm like that.
You know that right?
I personally think that his music its stunning! Check him out!

Here they are:
Please feel free to share them, maybe they will inspire others to be creative with their artistic talents!

I will be posting the finished paintings and videos in the near future here on the blog...
But of course if you follow me on Insta/FB/Twitter you will know about it first.
And if you are interested in commissioning or purchasing one of my pieces, come over here and send me a message - rather then a comment on insta as occasionally I miss those!
Thank you guys.

Love you very much,
Keep alive and happy!

Summer Treat

If you follow me on insta you already know that how much i adore raw vegan food!

well, between one painting and the next, this is the treat that i usually prepare.
I love this because it's yummy, super healthy, super raw and light!
You can eat it and feel uplifted because, has the amazing healing property of the raw cacao and chia seeds, plus, it's made with water rather then a nut milk. so if you are looking for a light treat, this is definitely the one for you. nuts are great, don't get me wrong, but i find that sometimes, we, raw vegans, tend to use them a little bit too much. and anyway, if you love nuts, i have 2 super tasty recipes right here for you.

90 gr chia seeds
400 ml water
4 spoonfuls of raw cocoa powder
6 dates, soaked in warm water for 1 hour

2 spoonful of desiccated coconut
sprinkle of freeze dried raspberries

how to?

soak the chia seeds in the 400 ml of water for about 1 hour.
place the seeds with the blender, adding dates and cocoa powder.
blend, for about 5 minutes, until completely smooth.

Place in a glass and decorate with desiccated coconut. Place in the fridge for at least 3 hours. just before serving, add the freeze dried raspberries.

enjoy darlings!

Easter Break

This is were we retreat for our Easter Break this year, the New Forest.
It's a really beautiful location were we come back nearly every year. It's so peaceful and calm.

We took our bicycle out on an excursion amongst the big oak trees of the forest for a whole day on Easter Sunday. Had a picnic, enjoyed the rays of spring sunshine and admired wild deers and wild horses.

So magical!
It's the sort of place I could just easily moved to if I found the right little cottage. Perhaps one like this one:

and a tree like this one next to it:

so that I could hang a swing off one of the largest branches.
and if it had a lake like this one near by

with swans and ducks... well I think I would be in heaven!
Have a wonderful day folks!
Leave you with this beautiful tune by the houses:

Guilt Free Treat

R A W   V E G A N
i c e - c r e a m

All you need for this:

1. Some frozen fruit
2. Blender

(Blender with frozen dessert option - I use a Champion Juicer, but there are many others)

Freeze your fruit.
Strawberries and raspberry can go in pretty much as they are (I don't even remove the green bits, I'm so lazy). If you want to make bananas ice cream be sure to ripe your bananas well before freezing. They need to have some black spots on their skin. Then peel the bananas and stick them in freezer chopped in pieces.

Stick the fruit in the blender/juicer and go for it. I like to blend fruit one at the time rather then mix it, but you can do pretty much whatever you like! You really cannot go wrong with this.

Banana ice-cream is smooth and vanilla like texture, while frozen berries ice-cream will be more like a sorbet. So you can use bananas to make other flavours more creamy.

Hope you enjoy it... send me pictures of your delicious treats!

The Mixed Media phase

I am officially into my Mixed Media phase.
It's weird
I've always love watercolour... since, well, forever!
I loved the challenge that water-colour and ink offers to an Artist to grow and expand improving  their skills with every single stroke of paint.

But at time I felt a little bit limited with water-colour; and I always wanted to experiment with it in a more 'unconventional' way. (Remember this?)

Recently, I have re-discovered the delights of Mixed Media Art, and I am loving it!
I used to do mixed media art in my teens, well before my Art training, and at the time, it was my favourite!

I have always been a collector for things.
I actually think that every Artist is a collector

Artists save that piece of scrap paper because the colour its just the one that they adore. They save maps because they are oh so gorgeous. They save music sheets because they are so poetic and romantic. They save stamps because they consider them miniature paintings that could not be possibly be throw into the recycle. They save petals, because it remind them of happy summer days wondering about in a field of grass.

I have all of these things... I have always collected them and kept them knowing that someday I would use them in my Artworks. Now the time has really come!

I had loads of fun with my new mixed media paintings recently.
Happy to say that I've been filming the work in progress of each piece, so you shall soon see them coming along from start to finish.

These pieces are also going to be up the Society 6 Art Store, available as prints, cards, cushions and more...

~ By the way I have 3 Society6 stores, did you know? ~

Another version of the Angel Song I love.

Hello my lovely people,
do you remember when I was telling you guys about the song I love so much?
Well recently a friend shared this with me on Facebook... and I fell in love with it!
It's so beautiful... Almost, I want to say... More beautiful then the original song.

I love that! There is nothing worse then a cover worse then the original song. I think, If you are to 'remake - 'remix' - 'redo'
(Which I don't believe it to be wrong in any way, by the way)
Just like the "Steal Like An Artist" concept by Austin Kleon - or the idea behind Joseph Gordon Levitt's Hitrecord. I love Hitrecord and the idea of remixing artworks, collaborating with other artists to create something even greater!

When Remixing, Redoing, Remaking an Artwork, the result has got to be an improvement on the original work... or a different twist on the original work.
A bit like the students artworks in Mona Lisa Smile...

Have a beautiful and creative day.

Waffles = Happiness

When you wake up at the sun is shining is the best, right?
Well today was one of those days. I woke up thinking: 'Todays, it's going to be great!'

I made some freshly squeezed orange juice and chocolate waffles! Yummy!!!
Here is the recipe for these bad boys.
Enjoy it.

Vegan Waffle Recipe:

(This recipe makes 4 waffles in an Andrew James waffle maker - if you have a larger machine double the size)

1 cup of organic plain flour
1 teaspoon sugar (I use Raw Coconut Palm)
1/2 teaspoon salt (I use pink Himalayan salt or sea salt)
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla (I use organic vanilla paste)
1 spoon of melted coconut oil (gently melt it at low heat)
1 cup of rice milk

Put all of the dry ingredients in a bowl; mix well. add the wet ingredients and mix again, removing all of the lumps of flour. Takes a couple of minutes. i squash the mixture on the side of the bowl with a wooden spoon.

Vegan Chocolate Sauce Recipe:

(Makes enough for 2 waffles; I usually have 2 chocolate waffles the other 2 with lemon and rice syrup!)

1 spoon raw coconut oil
1 spoon of sugar (I use raw coconut palm sugar)
1 spoon of chocolate powder (I use raw cocoa)
2 spoons of rice milk

Gently melt 1 spoon of coconut oil at very low heat. Add the sugar, mix well, add the chocolate powder. Mix well. Add a little rice milk and mix again. And it's done!

Been enjoying all of the music I received for xmas. this one is one of them. #love it!

Miracle, the Bee

This is the story of Miracle.
Miracle is a Bee, I found yesterday on the outside windowsill of my lounge.
She was completely still and looked completely dead. What are you doing there wolly?! Shouldnt you be in hibernation somewhere warm and cosy?

However, since I had not see her there in the morning, It could not have been there too long.
I picked her up, (and while doing her dropped her on the floor... sorry bee!!!)
It was dark out, so I went and got a touch, and found her in amongst the sage.
I put her on a tray and put a drop of Manuka honey that I had since my pre-vegan days, and placed it right next to her little face. No sign of life.

I was praying that she would come back, and while doing that, I began blowing warm air on her. Nothing, nada. But after about a minute, of blowing hot air, I saw that her leg started to move a little! So I carried on. After a little while, she began drinking the Manuka honey!
I could not believe it!
I found a net cake protector to place on top of the tray before she woke up completely, and kept her in my warm cosy studio. Shortly after she was buzzing around her 'new home'.
I introduced her to a wild bee come I found in the woods, and she was well excited about that!
Today I gave her a Croatian honeycome that I had in the cupboard since my honeymoon three years ago (seems appropriate!) to munch on, since Manuka honey it's well strong. She is so into it!
I intend to release my little Miracle Bee, but I am a little weary about it, because it has been so cold out there, and I don't want her to die. But according to the Met Office the weather its supposed to be milder, so maybe tomorrow is the day when she will find her freedom once again.
I am so proud to have saved this little bee from sure death, and given her the care she needed. I am looking forward to see her fly away in the morning and pray she will find her way home!
She certainly will have lots to tell her friends back in the nest!
What a way to finish the year and beginning the year, with a Miracle!

Love to you all
